Mike McGill’s Skull & Snake graphic was created by Vernon Courtlandt Johnson in 1984 while McGill was developing the 540 McTwist. The snake and lightning-bolt elements were added at McGill’s suggestion and became one of Powell-Peralta’s most recognizable pro graphics.
