About Us

The Dark Slide is a skateboard shop and record store based in Des Moines, Iowa. We carry skateboards, snowboards, vinyl, CDs and cassettes, collectible toys, books and magazines — all the stuff that lives where skating, music and pop culture overlap.

Old school is our specialty

We're known for old-school reissue and collector decks from Powell Peralta, Santa Cruz, Vision, H-Street, Madrid, Hosoi and more, along with current street decks, wheels, trucks, bearings and complete setups.

Records and collectibles

Our music section runs from new releases to used and hard-to-find vinyl, CDs and cassettes. On the collectibles side, you'll find Super7, NECA, Kidrobot and other figures, plus skate and music books and magazines.
