Santa Cruz Skateboards recently posted a video to their YouTube channel featuring a fun game of S.K.A.T.E between top professionals Tom Asia and Maurio McCoy. This game though had a twist. Both skaters were required to skate a board that’s bigger than what they normally ride.
Tom usually rides am 8” board, but for this game he was riding an 8.2” board. Maurio rose an 8.4” board which is wider than his normal 8.25” board. The science between board widths when it comes to a game of skate is that a wider board takes longer to rotate around than a smaller board. Their feet would also have to be in a different spot compared to what they’re used to, increasing the difficulty for these great skaters. The video also starts with them noting that the wider boards were also longer than they were used to.
This is a video that serves to remind us that skating is fun, and we should enjoy the opportunity to have a good time with our homies. Check out the video below.
