"Red hot reissue of ‘The Buzz Electric’, the beloved second album of The Apers. After starting out in The Netherlands in 1995 and self-mockingly calling themselves The Apers because ‘they aped the sound of their favorite band
Ramones’, they soon became one of the frontrunners of the European pop punk scene, inspiring many young punk rockers around the continent to start bands themselves too. After releasing numerous singles and EP’s, and
appearing on many compilations, in 2001 the band released their long-awaited self-titled debut album. With the video for its lead single ‘Eyes Open Wide’ making it to MTV and more, the album gained The Apers lots of attention, and saw the band hitting the international roads even more as well. For a few years straight they would play well over a hundred shows a year.
Their sophomore album ’The Buzz Electric’ was released in March 2003, just in time for the band’s first US tour. Playing 36 shows in 26 states along with their friends and label mates Groovie Ghoulies, they hit many punk rock landmarks from 924 Gilman St. in Berkeley to the Fireside Bowl in Chicago to a sold out show in NYC’s CBGB’s. This album features one of their biggest songs ‘Almost Summer’ – which became one of the earlier Coolest
Songs In The World on Little Steven’s Underground Garage, as well as other fan favorites like ‘Please Don’t Change’. Stardumb Records is proud to bring the album back in print 22 years later. This limited reissue comes
with alternate artwork, is remastered by Perry Leenhouts (Travoltas), includes the lyrics on a printed inner sleeve, and is pressed on red vinyl with black smoke."
