The image that Hendrix developed through his style incorporated rich colors, form and the many textured fabrics used in his clothes - the use of scarves and velvet robes, and a variety of hats - has been mimicked by others, however with Jimi this was not a dreamt-up image. Created by his stylist and management, this was an extension of his art, thus it came across as authentic as it truly was, and became a theme of the era. His style evoked a home-grown, raw, and uncensored sensuality, which indeed was his nature and also that of his music, as if he was how own muse. Narrated by Slash, of "Guns and Roses" and long-time Hendrix acolyte, this film is less a biography than the first film ever to focus on the music and the impetus of the master who created it.
