With consent from Larry Strub, Kevin Whitley, Gary Chester, and Lyman Hardy, permission to use the Trance Syndicate Logo granted by King Coffey.Ed Hall is an noise rock band formed in Austin, Texas, USA in 1985. The band played a mix of post-hardcore and psychedelic rock and was described by Trouser Press as "Austin's resident heirs to the Butthole Surfers' weird-rock crown". Ed Hall was a trio not containing any member of that name; Gary Chester handled guitar duties, with Larry Strub on bass. Drumming on the band's first two albums was handled by Kevin Whitley, who was replaced by Lyman Hardy until the group dissolved.

Trance Syndicate was an independent record label founded in 1990 by King Coffey, drummer of Austin, TX band the Butthole Surfers. Its first release was Crust's The Sacred Heart of Crust EP. From 1990 to 1999, when the label closed down, Trance Syndicate released albums by several notable Texan bands and artists, including Bedhead, Ed Hall, Pain Teens, Cherubs, johnboy, …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead and Roky Erickson.
